Introduction I started hybridizing irises as hobby over 40 years ago and soon decided to specialize in Siberians. Since then I have introduced almost 100 different varieties and had some good luck with awards, including the top award of the AIS, the Dykes Medal. Currently I'm President of the American Iris Society Foundation and edit the Society for Siberian Irises journal. We grow most kinds of beardless irises, MTBs and SDBs. Climate - zone 5 (cold winters), neutral pH alluvial soils, good rainfall - ideal for Siberian irises!
Interests Toxicology, agricultural sciences, pesticides/pest management, food safety, irises, horticulture, grandchildren, travel (particularly the Caribbean in winter), architecture, music.
