About me

Introduction BritCits was founded in 2012, initially a campaign group, then a registered charity, in response to the attack on citizens/residents with non-EEA family members due to 9 July 2012 immigration rules. Since then I have worked with Steven to raise awareness of the rules, their impact on people, our values, economy and kids forced into a single-parent upbringing. The ADR route has been referred to as "a ban". Skilled citizens/residents are leaving in order to look after ageing parents; with them go their skills set, tax revenue and contribution to society. Often those leaving are NHS-trained doctors and professionals who have never claimed benefits. The alternative offered by the govt is outsourcing the care of elderly parents to strangers. Our data shows these rules particularly impact those of south Asian heritage, raising the issue of racial discrimination. Formative years are wasted, with prevention of development of bonds between parent and child, kids and grandparents. Despite studies showing both these things lead to a more stable adult life. BritCits fights for the very human right to a family life.
